Residents Request Collapsed Sheet Pile in Pondok Labu Repaired

Residents living in RT 09/02 Pondok Labu Urban Village, Cilandak, South Jakarta who affected by floods due to collapsed sheet pile at the jungle city of Jakarta Maritime, Fishery and Food Security Dept are requesting related unit to immediately conduct reparation.

Portable Pumps Sent to Pondok Labu

"Residents want related to repair the collapsed sheet pile. Besides hitting house, the water also inundates the residential," expressed Mukmin (40), a local resident, Saturday (8/20).

According to Mukmin, despite the incident is not happen, Pondok Labu is always inundated due to overflowing water of the river. "During rainy season, our village is often inundated, but this time this is the worst flood," he told.

Responding on this matter, Section Head of Cilanda Sub-district Water Management, Elizabet Tarigan disclosed her side will cover the house walls that are collapsed thus water can recede quickly.

"This is our temporary handling. We'll cover potholes using sandbags and then suck up water using portable pump," he said.
